Hotel and getting to Royal Caribbean cruise terminal

Looking for recommendations.
Booked on AOS March 16,2023 for my granddaughter and I. We will have her mom drop us off for cruise. We will be coming from north Houston. 

I was thinking of a hotel the night before the cruise, but am wondering if I will have a hard time getting Uber or Lift to the terminal. March 16, is a Thursday. 
Should I get a hotel outside of Galveston? I’ve been hearing of booked transportation being canceled, so now am not sure if what to do. 
Hotel recommendations would be helpful as well. TIA

 Taxis are abundant that's what we ended up doing to the ship when the hotel shuttle was packed and we couldn't get an earlier transport.  On the island we stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn and Holiday Inn Resort.  Both were nice.  Garden Inn wasn't really close to anything except the Walmart.  Holiday Inn was in a much better location for food and walking around.  Both times we used a taxi to take us to dinner the night before we cruised and got his number to come back and take us to the ship.
