Rare MrSchwump Posted December 30, 2022 #1 Share Posted December 30, 2022 Several years ago we visited Screws Sulphur Springs. Looks like they’re closed now. Has anyone visited on of the other hot springs there recently? We’d love to do that in February when we’re there.
funtoocruise Posted May 23, 2023 #2 Share Posted May 23, 2023 Did you end up going is it still open? We are going in December and would like to try the Sulphur springs. Any info would be great. Thanks
scanditaly Posted July 3, 2023 #3 Share Posted July 3, 2023 Hi all, Better late than never. YES! we went and enjoyed the springs and the wonderful "anti-inflammatory" effect that felt so nice. The experience itself was just so-so. Someone had a tray with lots of fresh cut fruit, and that was appreciated. Sitting in the various pools was heaven, and would definitely return if the Island was offered. Scanditaly

Scanditaly Which tour did you take to get to the springs? I went with Levi Baron Bumpiing Tours twice he's no longer in business. Trying to get back to the island and see what yours are available. Thank you.
scanditaly Posted July 4, 2023 #5 Share Posted July 4, 2023 Destination Highlight: Hot Springs and Titou Gorge Escape It was a Celebrity Ship Shore Excursion. We had no idea what we were getting into. The opening that you see in the photo is a slit carved by fast running water with the super high powered waterfall at the "top". Water was ccccoold. you could look straight up to the sky through an opening in the top, and as one went forward, against the current, there were some very large caverns.. All the while, the current is going against you. Once you experience the force of the waterfall, the current is your friend and get you the heck out of there. the next stop was Wooten Springs. Sulpher, brown water, hot and soothing. They were not kidding when they promised you would feel ten years younger afterward.

Swimming against the current in very cold water is an enlightening experience especially surrounded by rock formations like Titou. Water was clean though I drank a couple of gallons of it on the way through, by of course no choice of my own.😁 1
