Was hoping someone could answer my question. We have free drinks in the casino for our upcoming Horizon cruise but not sure how it works since they have no bar inside anymore. Do we need to be playing or can we just walk in and find a server? Are servers walking around? Will it take forever is it mission impossible  lol Thanks!!

If you have drinks on us, you only get the drinks while playing.  I always tip $1 per drink even when ordering a water bottle.  Once the servers get to know, they may get you a drink when you are not playing.  Even if there was a casino bar you cannot use the free drinks at the bar.

My daughter and boyfriend also have free drinks in the casino, but will have a 3 year old along as well. Not sure how much they will be able to take advantage of the drinks. Hoping that they will be able to occasionally get a drink without a huge wait. Especially since they won't have huge amounts of time to spend in the casino.

Too bad they aren't like Royal in that you can still get drinks at the casino bar, and don't have to be playing.

It's a crapshoot in the casino. It depends on how many drinks waiters they put out on the floor. Post covid waiters came frequently; that is until more recent months. In the  last  five months or so our experience has been you have to track them down and tackle them. I would be tempted to say it is a cost cutting measure, but pre-covid it was not unusual for there to be few waiters on the floor so it seems they have brought back that pre-covid irritation.

You are supposed to be actively playing for them to take your order but as someone mentioned previously once they get to know you it is a different story.

That is a great perk on Royal for gamblers.  We ended up getting Cheers because drink service in the casino while at the slots is iffy.  Much better for table players as they can request a server from the pit.  Royal is usually more expensive, but with easy casino drinks and getting 4 drinks per day per person for being Diamond, we don't need the drink package.

DH went up to the bar to get a drink and the bartender told him you had to be on a machine to get a drink.  Then DH told the bartender to send a server over to his machine so he could get a drink.  Within a few minutes there was a server.  I've been reading service in the casino is terrible lately.
