I smell a story.

Well, only that we did a great off-the-ship adventure, and there wasn’t really any down-time to indulge in such frivolities of posting on social media.  😉    If we weren’t flying or eating or game-driving, we were asleep.

An offering from the World Cruise Event in Bali...

"The Ramayana is an ancient Sanskrit epic which follows Prince Rama's quest to rescue his beloved wife Sita from the clutches of Ravana with the help of an army of monkeys."

And again, it’s now 10:30p back on the ship.  We have said goodbye to Tanzania and have sailed away from Dar es Salaam.  So…time to crash.  But here’s some amuse-bouche type stuff to dangle in front y’all…

So, we flew out of Zanzibar, to the Kichwa Tembo airstrip, at the Maasai Mara in Kenya.  As mentioned, most of the first half of the day was spent in the slow-moving line for security and the slow-moving line for immigration and the slow-moving line for customs and the slow-moving-line to get to the next slow-moving line.  And, of course, that was both in order to leave Tanzania, and then after the flight, the same sort of thing all over again to enter Kenya.   Anyway, once we arrived at the Maasai Mara, though, any annoyances melted away.  Over the next couple of days (4 straight sea days) I’ll post a bunch of pix….I’m quite sure that many or most of y’all out there have already done this sort of thing and have your own photos, but….tough cookies, I’m going to post pix anyway.   😉

For those who haven’t been there, this is Kichwa Tembo International Airport.   As you can see, the rental car area doesn't require a shuttle to get there.  On the right is Terminal A.  There is a Terminal B, it’s behind me as I take this photo.  Terminal B is identical to Terminal A.

(ooh, lightning out over the water, as the sun goes down.  And Keller ribs @ the Colonnade tonight, hope to be outside as always, rooting maybe for dinner and a show)

Wart hog & African buffalo.  These two kept their distance, so the photos are not so sharp.  Apparently, even if you’re a wart hog who isn’t starring in a Disney movie, you can be pretty aloof.

Dinner report:  Keller ribs are tasty, although as mentioned earlier, I prefer a little “tug” vs “fall off the bone”.  Love the cornbread, although when we do it (like for Thanksgiving) we like to incorporate some whole corn kernels and a bit of chopped jalapeños.  ymmv).    Unfortunately, the lightning never materialized into a dinner light show.  ☹️
