Back to back cruise

Hi everyone!

I'm taking my first back to back in a couple weeks and just finished my check-in for the first leg of my cruise.  Will I need to check-in again z(in a week) for the 2nd leg of my cruse?  I assume so since it's two different confirmation numbers and whatnot - just wasn't sure since everything else remains the same.

Thanks!

The correct answer is yes. But I never do and the one time I did, the employee coming around to check us in actually commented that I was already checked in because very few b2b actually do.

It saved him some time taking my picture again and you will need to put a card on file again, but honestly there is no need to check in again if you would prefer not to. The time I spent adding a card on file was less than the time answering all the questions carnival obviously doesn't need in order for me to sail with them. Even my passport information is carried over behind the scenes as they never ask for it again.

The answer is actually NO! Go to the Carnival website and it gives you the process you need to do on a B2B. I went on a B2B last year and the process is correct.

You're misunderstanding the OP, my friend.  They are asking about the check-in process done 14 days prior to the cruise, NOT the physical process of the B2B that takes place on the ship.  You most certainly need to do the 2 week electronic check-in for BOTH legs. Just don't want someone here to get the wrong understanding. 👍

We just did a bak to back on the Celebration.   It was also our first b2b, so we  double checked everything to make sure we didn't want to make a mistake.   It's really very easy.  Make sure your PVP has your two cruises "linked" so the ship knows you are b2b.   We also checked at guest services after we got on the first cruise just to make sure and everything looked good.  If you are not switching rooms,  you don't have to pack up anything at the end of the first cruise.  If you ARE switching rooms, you have to put everything in your suitcases and leave them in your room in the morning.   We made sure our room steward knew what was going  on and we put the new luggage tags on them just to make sure they weren't taken off the ship.  Your room steward will move your stuff to the new room (we helped her by taking a couple of suitcases to the new room as we got out of our room).    On the morning of the last day of your first cruise, bring your passport and your boarding pass with you and go to the place where the ship instructs all b2b cruisers to go.   That is where they gave us our new sail and sign cards.  We had pastries, coffee and orange juice in our waiting area, which was one of the dining rooms.   After a bit of a wait, you will be escorted off the ship.   Have your passport, boarding pass and your new card with you.   You will be checked off the ship, you will go down to customs, check in/out with them and then get back on the ship.   (customs only took our picture, verified our identity and sent us on our way).    You're back on board before the big crowds get on, so enjoy the empty ship for an hour or so.

Thank you!

We have 15 (7 cabins) of us doing a btb, so it’s going to be quite an adventure. Lol

Luckily we all have the same cabin for both legs. We plan on doing laundry at the start at the second leg, so it’s good to know that we have a bit of time before everyone gets on!

Exactly what I plan on doing for my upcoming B2B! FYI - check your ship - some of the older ones still use coin operated machines instead of having card readers on the machines.

My recommendation would be to enjoy having the ship to yourself during the time that only the B2B folks are on board. Grab some Funfetti cheesecake from the lido buffet. Enjoy a hot tub to yourself. Take pictures around the ship with nobody else in your shots.

Laundry can wait until the first or second night of the new cruise -- you'll still have the laundry room to yourself as none of the new folks who just boarded will be doing laundry on the first or second night.

This is true!  The hot tub by ourselves sounds pretty good.  lol
