For years it has been the case that solo bookings will not show GTY rooms.  Consequently if the low price is based on a GTY room, if one goes through the booking with one passenger, it will show the lowest priced specific room, but not the GTY price.  If a solo wants a GTY room, the Revenue Department at Celebrity has to manually created the booking  It's a simple enough process, but does require a phone call.

ok. I said it wrong. Choosing whatever cabin they offer with 2 pp is $349 each. Choosing whatever cabin they offer as a solo is $1149. 

I never said it was guarantee. it isn't

It is cheaper to book a 2pp when a solo passenger

Ahh, OK, that makes sense.  Yes it often is cheaper to book for two, I sail solo sometimes and my expereince is it is almost always cheaper.  Unless you can find a special solo rate but apparently they go fast.

you could book 2 in an OV and no show 1 of the guests, still cheaper than sold inside
