By the time you got to Refection were you able to just walk onto the ship or did you have to wait in the terminal before boarding?  I am sure even if you had to wait, waiting in the terminal would have been more comfortable than waiting outside.

We did have to wait, but you are correct, I am amazed how hot it is here. No complaints for those in snow, but we had to find shade.
more comfortable in the terminal.

Cheers!

Good Morning from Nassau! This place is empty. Compared to last week when it was a record breaking day for the port.
current view

Looked this up and a multi billion involved in casinos owns it.

Last night was a great sail away and dinner was at Lawn Club Grill.

Just returned from the gym and had a view of the new port area they have been working. With all the ships last week we could not see it.
Pics are a bit dark because I took them through the window.

About the only thing we do in Nassau is go to a bar on the pier for snacks and a drink.  We mgiht, if we are feeling energetic, walk around the port area a bit.  It's never been one of our favorite ports.

Anxiously awaiting story on the water from above.

We found last year on Reflection a lot of work going on. I know it’s a working ship and you have to keep up with it, but during the “early” morning a lot of banging and scraping.
This morning having coffee on the balcony a wall of water comes pouring down on our deck right in front of us. We both jumped up and pushed the chairs back just missing us.

just didn’t like to wake up that way!

Cheers!

So was the water from the crew doing work/maintenance on decks above yours, e.g. window washing, or was it frm something else?

They were washing windows on the upper deck. The window washing vessel that is on tracks on the side of the ship.

All good, we made it to the Sunset Bar for a mimosa! 😀

A few thoughts on Beyond

As I had shared we had sailed Edge and Apex so this class of ship was not new to us.
I will say that the Beyond make some nice changes and additions.

Martini Bar

At first we didn’t think we liked it in the middle but about half way through we decided we did. The end where the bar use to be is a nice raised sitting area where we sat almost every night watch and listening to the going ons of the Bar. Each afternoon and evening there was good entertainment with an occasional performance from one of the theater entertainers. Never had an issue getting a seat

. The service was outstanding.

Sunset Bar

I really liked the changes and the way it was set up. The tiering of the levels very nice. Little cabanas, nice.
two issues were…

1. Ok you already know so I won’t go on and on, but the bar service was unacceptable. I did save a lot of tip money! 😂

2. The daily music that was piped in was so bad. futuristic and unlistenable. Repetitive sounds that just beat your head in.

Oh, one last thing. The live music was almost always at 5:30. People are moving towards getting ready for dinner. We set sail at 4 most days, why not music during sail away ( only done when leaving Ft Lauderdale) or short afterwards?

Ship Entertainment

in a word outstanding! The artist they brought on to the cast shows were fantastic. The technology the theater uses adds another dimension.

We did not watch any production shows (except the rehearsal day 😂) in Eden but did listen to entertainers there. Love the view! I just wish they would light up the tail at night like Equinox did.

Specialty Restaurants

Never had a bad meal. Exceptional service.

The only challenge was the Fine Cut kitchen. They had some issues with cooking and timing but it didn’t ruin the night because the staff was amazing! Love love the Roof Top Grill. The weather was very nice every time we are there.
Barbie did convince me that La Voyage wasn’t outstanding.  The food and service was good. For $75 PP I may not buy it but as I shared it was included in the Specialty Dinning package we had purchased.

The best by far was Eden! Amazing food and wine along with some of the best service. Worth every dollar if it was the only restaurant you purchased for a special occasion.

Resort Deck

To be honest we did not spend a lot of time here. I will say I do like the enlarged area and pool. Some of the sitting areas were lost on me. Wasted space, not seeing a lot of people use it. The cabanas facing the pool was a great change. Never saw, well once, people using them. Mostly DJ musics but at times a solo entertainer did perform.

more to come….

Infinity Cabin

i know I have read a lot of negative reviews on them, but we really like them. We have done Sky Suites on Edge, that really works, but if you just need a cabin Infinity works.
The extra space with the picture window. Sitting having coffee and watching the sea go by in air conditioning is enjoyable.
We never opened the window.

I love the electronics. Working the room from the app. Hitting morning and watching the lights come up slowly and then the shade rises to give you the first view of the day.
Shower space amazing! I’m back in the two door slide capsule for the next two weeks. 🙄

If you haven’t tried Infinity give it a shot.

one issue for Barbie was storage space. Not enough useable space to hold what she wanted held. Solstice class works better for her. The overhead cabinets over the bed she loves.

Bar Staff outside of Magic Carpet and Sunset Bar

Very good! I was amazed and yes amazed that I would meet a bar server one time, not see than for a couple of days and when you do they knew me! There was one Bar Tender Herman who worked the Martini Bar. How many people and martinis does this guy meet and make.

one late morning I got our mimosas from him. Then maybe a few days later her made us Martinis.
The following week I went to Craft Social and there was Herman. I walked up and he said good morning Mr. Roberts and knew what I wanted and how! Come on!!

Cabin Stewart

Pegen was the man! When saying goodbye Barbie actually had a tear and I must say I was a bit sad. You know, when you spend more time than 7 days you get to know them. You hear their story of life, if you want to. Barbie is very engaging.

Officers

Captain Kate is a brand for Celebrity. She engages with everyone and shows interest. Even when a lady came up with a teddy bear she travels with to share that story with her. 😂

This lady actually sat down next to me outside Craft Social one day and when she sat it on the table she said to it, “you sit there now.”🙄 Not judging just sharing.

All the other officers were visible. The Senior Officers Receptions were done very well along with the Captains appreciation gathering.

One thing Captain Kate would say at both Senior Officers Receptions was that the people in the room know the difference between a boat and a ship! 😂🤔

For those that have an issue with this, she shared that a boat can fit on a ship but a ship can’t fit on a boat. 😎

To close out, unless anyone has a question, great experience, great place to spend part of the winter. The “vibe” is great!

I need another drink!! 🍸🍸🍸

Cheers!

Good Morning from at sea off the Bahamas!

It’s a beautiful morning with seas still flat and calm.

Last night was Chic night so dinner was at Murano. More on that in a bit

We started the evening at, let’s say it together, the Martini Bar. It was not really busy at all. While we were sitting I looked over at one of the tall backed shares and guess what was sitting on top?

CA0A0AE6-E15B-4363-8F22-29F7F4760EBF.thumb.jpeg.71dd733ad6d4ca47039484860e4a5514.jpeg

Yes I found a duck left by a Michigan couple who has a YouTube channel. Anyway after taking the pic I was going to return it to its place but two servers came over and said that our server collects them. So I gave the duck a new home! 😀

Then off the Murano. Again not that busy but I will say the team in this Murano were spot on! The service was 100 times better than on Equinox. I asked if O could have the Murano lobster with steak and the answer was no problem!
Lobster was cooked table side,

The steak cut table side and presented.

I had some nice wine to go with it.

After dinner we went up to the Sky Lounge for what they called Romantic dancing music.
I didn’t know what type of after dinner drink I wanted but there was one that I use to drink back in the day so I asked the bartender if he had 43. He said you have come to the right bar and he pulled a bottle out from underneath! Nice! 😀

I was surprised to see how much smaller Reflections Sky Lounge was compared to Equinox.

Walked by Al Bacio and what have they done to the lemon tarts!

They are huge and have even more toppings! I will have to try one! 😂

Been following along and have enjoyed all of your posts, very informative.

Jumping in to ask if by chance you got the opportunity to try this variety of the infamous Lemon Tart?

I sailed Beyond prior to you and was so disappointed when these were served. They were grainy, the meringue was foamy and the crust fell apart in my hands. Nothing like any of the others I've had on previous sailings. I did make a short post/review and tried to make light of them and my devastation... but that fell FLAT!

The following day after these were in the display case a new version appeared that were cut in a rectangular shape without any topping. Those seemed to have been prepared in a sheet pan. They didn't fall part in my hands but they were not lemon curd, almost seemed like gelatin was added.

I must admit that I've over indulged with these little nuggets of yum over the years so am super hopeful that what I had was indeed and one miss?

Thank you,

Patty

Good Morning as we approach St Thomas. Clocks were changed last night.

Let me start with has beautiful afternoon it was yesterday at the Sunset Bar. It was a very busy day for the team up there. Only bad part was I lost two more card games to Barbie! 🥲

Anyway the weather was fantastic as you saw with the tail pic.

As the afternoon went on more people came up for sunset set. There were two artist playing  for the crowd.

Drinks were flowing and laughter and conversation everywhere.

As the sun got closer to the water people gathered at the railing.

Then as the sun disappeared a huge cheer went out and one guy yelled “ Thanks J. C.” !

A Great Afternoon!

Then it was time to get ready for The Tuscan Grill.

Great table by the window but the tail wasn’t lit. 🙄

Only thing is the kitchen let us down. 😩 We both ordered chicken parm, we asked for extra sauce. Should not of, the sauce ( gravy for those of the Italian heritage) was like tomato soup, runny and no flavor.
Our waiter asked how it was and we told him. Again, he didn’t cook it he delivered it.
Before we know it the chef is at our table. Barbie explained about no flavor and it being watery. That started a very deep discussion on how Barbie would had prepared it. The chef complimented her on her knowledge of cooking and flavors and apologized for the disappointment. He took our cabin number as well did the Maitre’d.
I thanked him for listening to the feedback. The chef asked the Maitre’d to let him know when we came back. 🤔

Then it was off to the Ensemble Lounge for more music and my 43! They had it too! 😀🍸

We arrive 12:30 local time depart at 7:30. Dinner at the Lawn Club Grill tonight!

Did you know that it’s International Women’s Day!

More to come…..

Cheers!

Back on board after taking a walk over to the Crown Bay Marina. We have seen this restaurant every time we have docked here and last week said we would go over and check it out.

But first this morning coming in….,

and then we ran into Chris, who we met at the start of the cruise, who is in concierge class and will be staying on board next week. He learned from his concierge host that, wait for it……..500 kids will be joining us next week!🙀😩😳 Really, have you ever heard of Royal Caribbean? 🤔

That’s it for now. Heading to Sunset Bar. 🍸
