Hampton Inn or Embassy suites in Elizabeth, Newark?

Looking to book two nights in either Hampton Inn  (formerly Comfort Inn) or Embassy suites in Elizabeth, Newark. Both have complimentary airport shuttle but not sure of port shuttle to Cape Liberty. Though not too fuss as we can use an Uber. Looking to go to 9/11 on our full day stay as well.

 

Any opinions on these hotels or others before we book one?

We’ve stayed at that Embassy Suites a couple of times when we’ve driven to the port. At least prior to the pandemic, they had a shuttle to Cape Liberty, but I believe there was a charge. You can call them and ask what’s going on now. 
 

As a hotel, I think it’s better than the typical Embassy Suites, since there’s no atrium. Regular hallways. Some rooms have nice views of Newark Airport or Manhattan. 
 

The major drawback is that the food options for dinner are really limited. There’s a Ruby Tuesday’s across the way that is one of the worst places we’ve ever been to. There’s also a nearby IHOP.  There’s a Mall that’s a further walk, but it didn’t do much for us. Ymmv.

Both have paid shuttle service to Cape Liberty.

Embassy suites pool was closed in May 2022 stay and hotel 🏨 wasn’t great! But that was right after covid19. Might have been improved. Usually enjoy Embassy suites. Recently stayed at Spring Hill suites Bayonne January 2023 for New York City Manhattan cruise Ncl getaway and very nice! Nice hot tub but pool freezing. Very clean and new. Trinity reservations for park sleep cruise reservations!

There is no Spring Hill hotel in Bayonne. The only hotel in Bayonne is an hourly rate hotel promoted by someone on this board who presents it as a viable lodging option. Never seen him promote any hourly rate motel in NYC as a low cost option.😗

Spring Hill suites Newark NJ! Very nice.

Never, ever stay at the Hudson Plaza Motel in Bayonne. It's a dirty, disgusting place frequented by low-rent hookers and drug addicts.

 

Both Embassy Suites and Spring Hill in Elizabeth are fine. Not sure about the shuttle.
