We will be in Nassau and were wondering which you would choose between The Riu all inclusive or Breezes all inclusive for a day pass resort. Thanks for any input.

Both are about a 15 minute taxi ride from the pier just in opposite directions;  RIU Paradise Island is easily walkable to the Marina Village or Atlantis Shops if you want to pick up a souvenir.   If you want more of a Resort experience upscale pampered with great service, RIU Paradise Island is the best choice.      If you want a nice beach day with calm waves and soft sandy beach, the Breezes has the best beach in Nassau.  Breezes can sometimes have a bit of a Spring Break crowd in March - May.

We prefer cabbage beach over cable (we’ve done both), we don’t really enjoy mild waves. We’ve been to Melia, Atlantis and RIU and RIU was our favorite. Breezes had some sketchy reviews when we were choosing a day pass on our last cruise. ETA I think breezes had some dates for high school senior trips.

RIU was really beautiful this month though it was far more crowded than we expected. Even the desk staff said they were surprised at how full they were. The lunch buffet was extensive but not fancy, though we did find plenty to eat. Plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas that a very nice attendant arranged for us. If you want shade, the building shades the beach and you can follow the shade over the course of the day. The pool quieted down after 3pm so we were able to swim for a bit. Be prepared, both the ocean and the pool were a bit cool.

There were drivers with vans waiting at the port exit. We asked for a private transport which was $30 for the two of us. At the end of the day there  is a dispatcher just outside the front door who will hail one of the waiting cabs for you. The cab was metered.
