Cabin Mate Switching, Is It Allowed?

Hi everyone, here is my question:

On our upcoming February 12th cruise on Glory, our travel companions both got a great deal, so they booked 2 cabins and invited us. As booked, the husband and I are in 1 cabin, and his wife and mine are in the second cabin. Is it possible to go to guest services and swap him out for my wife, so that we both have room cards keyed to our cabin, or is this frowned upon by Carnival?

I believe that 'officially' the computer will keep you in your original cabin so just be careful about the credit cards tied to each person's Sign & Sail. Treat the new card as a room key only. They don't care where you sleep. (Unless it's down on Deck 0! 😳)

If they got special casino perks, they want to keep the original S&S cards and get Room Only second cards

We’ve been cruising over 20 years. Our girls were 3 & 5 when we started. They are 23 & 25 now. We’ve booked cabins side by side under each of our names (we get great casino offers) then split the girls between us. Once on board we switch to whatever cabins we want with no questions asked. I wouldn’t get “extra room keys” because it’s confusing. Everyone’s bills will get confused since you use your S&S cards to pay for everything. I would use up any on board credit ahead of time for excursions and specialty dining. The only reason to keep yourself officially in the original cabins is if there’s some type of drink package you’re wanting to keep.

We have done it both ways.  One time guest services printed us new sail and sign cards.  no extra keys.......

We'll be doing some cabin swapping on an upcoming cruise due to my daughter not getting the great offers that both of us had.  It would obviously be more convenient to get new cards instead of having to carry around a second key-only card.  Will Guest Services take care of that if you ask? (I always thought they'd only issue extra key cards, which they did for my daughter once when she locked herself out of her cabin).

We’ve always just got extra keys to open cabins, family of 7 and it wasn’t confusing.
