When we did Chef's Table, I was the same way. The portions might be small, but there are SO MANY of them!

Hogladyrider Posted February 14, 2023 #728 Share Posted February 14, 2023 @Saint Greg.....glad you got to see the planes, it is something that is not available in many ports that's for sure. Plus right on the water with bars as well. We are water people so in St Maarten we have gone on private catamaran excursions that have been the BEST excursions ever, but only if you love jumping off a boat into the water and drinking and eating some yummy food. That's the great thing about cruising something for everyone's tastes!

Rare Saint Greg Posted February 14, 2023 Author #736 Share Posted February 14, 2023 I had heard it’s a 10 min walk to town and a $3 shuttle to maho. Otherwise a $20-30 taxi to maho. I considered the water taxi to the shuttle. $7 round trip but the line was long.
Rare Saint Greg Posted February 14, 2023 Author #737 Share Posted February 14, 2023 I saw another sign for the water shuttle the line looked much shorter but once you peek in the building it’s a long line in there as well.

Rare Saint Greg Posted February 14, 2023 Author #740 Share Posted February 14, 2023 As soon as I got out of the gate everyone hit me in the face trying to sell me excursions. I think on guy said $2 or 3 cab to town but at that point he could’ve offered me a free ride and I wouldn’t have taken it. But you may be able to get a better deal on cabs walking outside the port.
Rare Saint Greg Posted February 14, 2023 Author #741 Share Posted February 14, 2023 Looks like the water shuttle comes in down there
Rare Saint Greg Posted February 14, 2023 Author #742 Share Posted February 14, 2023 Walk wasn’t bad at all. I had heard the maho shuttles come every couple minutes but for me it was 15-20. I saw multiple Marigot, French Qtr, and others. So you can probably get just about anywhere you want by taking a 10 min walk or a $7 (round trip) water shuttle to town and catching the shuttles.
Rare Saint Greg Posted February 14, 2023 Author #743 Share Posted February 14, 2023 A couple older ladies came up and said “Do you speak any English?” A little ”Do you know how to get to the cruise ships?” Go down by the flag poles, take a left, then right and follow the road back to the ships. ”You speak good English!” oh thanks! 2

Rare Saint Greg Posted February 14, 2023 Author #745 Share Posted February 14, 2023 The security guard across the street yelled she has never seen it take this long as the shuttle finally pulled up. So this probably isn’t the norm. By now there were 5 of us going. It was indeed $3 per person.

Rare Saint Greg Posted February 14, 2023 Author #750 Share Posted February 14, 2023 I’m on the wrong side of the shuttle for pictures. You want to be on the left side going there. And the right side coming back.
