Question about Viking airport transfers

Ending cruise in Stockholm.  Flight not till 6 PM.  Off ship no later than 9AM.  Will do private tour until 2PM.  1. Can we leave luggage at ship till 2PM?  2. Can we purchase Viking airport transfer that late or are we on our own?  3. If no to either 1 or 2 should we take cab to central rail station and start and end our tour there?

My tour company in another city will take our luggage on the tour with us, but you would have to let Viking know you plan to self disembark with your luggage, if you can handle it yourself.  Viking probably won’t hold your luggage for you. You might have to do option 3 , if the tour company won’t let you bring your luggage.

Many passengers with Viking transfers have late afternoon or evening flights.  Most often Viking arranges for a hotel space with refreshments for the time between ship and ride to airport.  Normally you don't find this out until you are on the ship.  You can have a tour operator pick you up at that hotel.  Alternately find a tour operator that will pick you up at the ship with your bags, do the tour, have them drop you off at airport.    Make specific arrangements for your luggage because most group tours do not allow it.

You can have Viking put your bags out for you in the luggage area on the doc and claim it at the time of pickup for your tour. You won’t have to handle it yourself. Will still have to put bags out the night before.

Thanks for info. Had no idea about possible hotel arrangement. That would work great.  Tour is walking tour so no way with luggage.  First time Viking Ocean cruise.

Be advised that the hotel could be an airport hotel so might not be convenient for your tour.  You might want to email:TellUs@vikingcruises.com

and ask if they can tell you what hotel they use for airport hotels.

I think we'll have this situation for our upcoming cruise because our flight time is in the evening. Just to clarify: Are pax able to leave bags with a Viking representative at the airport and leave for part of the day, returning an hour to two before departure to the airport? If so, does this include “carry on” luggage? Basically, could we leave the hotel carrying just our daybag, like any other day in port, walk around, sightsee, etc?

 

OR does Viking ever offer a tour for these pax that you can sign up for once onboard? We had a HAL cruise do this once. There was an tour that ended by driving you to the airport.

Additional question
