Hotel Recommendations for Port of Tampa

We are looking to book a hotel near the cruise terminal in Tampa for 1 maybe 2 nights.    We will be flying into to Tampa Int'l airport.   Prefer a hotel that has a restaurant / bar and swimming pool.    If something to see or do in an easy walk nearby that would be nice too.

I see there is a Hilton downtown Tampa as well as an Embassy Suites that look nice.    Any feedback or suggestions are appreciated.    We typically enjoy Hilton or Marriott hotels since we are Gold members for both

We stayed at the Hyatt Place Downtown Tampa in January before our cruise. It was very clean with a free breakfast bar that had everything possible. They also have a happy hour from 4-6pm daily, where they have half priced drinks and appetizers. The happy hour was wonderful. You can easily walk a couple blocks to the free trolley and to the river front walk. There are restaurants with walking distance also. There is the Tampa aquarium which is very nice within walking distance and this is also where you board the cruise ships.

Stay downtown or in Ybor City. Plenty of hotels with those options and easy to access plenty to do, including walking Riverwalk, visiting the art museum or aquarium and going to Sparkman Wharf where there’s outdoor eating venues. If you stay in Ybor you can take the free streetcar into downtown, which takes about 10-15 minutes.

Lots of hotels near the airport ("Westshore") with nearby shopping and dining. I've stayed at the Embassy Suites Westshore and would recommend it - there are also other Hilton and Marriott options.  Nicer and also near the airport is Rocky Point.  Tampa is not huge - a taxi from airport hotels to the port will run about $25+ and UberX or Lyft will be cheaper.
