We where on the 2/25 cruise on the Dream and it was 5/10 no-limit. The first night they could not get anybody to play these limits so they changed it to 2.5/5 but changed it back the next night. And the table was full.

They also had 5 or 6 tournaments.

I did not go to any of the tournaments, but friends did not sure what they played. I played Texas Hold Em two nights in the back room. I liked going back there and playing. The only table they had open all week was the $3/$6 table! They had two other tables in the poker room with higher limits but never saw any one use them! Now I am hooked on damn poker ! :p

Just got back from the Sun yesterday and they had 1 table for Texas hold em. The first night it was $3/6 and after that it was $2/4. One bit of advice though, watch the dealers, this is a new game for them to deal and they make a lot of mistakes so watch very closely. Good Luck!

We sailed on the Star out of Los Angeles on an 8 day voyage to the Mexican Riviera. While sailing we participated in the Hold-Em tournaments every day.

The Tournaments were a 10 player table with a $60 buy in ($10 to the house and $50 into the prize pool). I felt the tourneys were not very well ran. Quite a few mistakes by the dealers so you had to pay close attention. The rules were modified by the casino which were as follows;

1) No Dead Blinds

2) Blinds started at 2 and four then increased x 2 every 15 minutes til you reaced 8 and 16 then stayed there till the end of the game.

3) Each player began with 20 chips. Too little with 10 players to wait til you had a decent hand to start.

4) Pay outs were; 1st = $250, 2nd - $150, 3rd = $100 plus each winned received a casino t-shirt.

The open tables played a limit format; 3/6 and 5/10. Both tables required a $60 minimum buy in. I personally do not like playing limit hold-em. Too many times you get drawn out and beat by flushes and streights.

Overall, I enjoyed the Casino, we (my wife and I) did very well leaving with a tad more than a grand of the Casino's cash!

Enjoy your time in the casino's!
