My point being people want an easy way to get a 'free' cruise and it's really not that easy if you have a limited budget. As I have said my husband and I have been doing this for years both in land based casinos and cruiseships. To be very frank It's a lot of work and record keeping. We report on our joint tax returns over 6 figures in W2-G income for many years. The amount of record keeping my husband needs to do in order not to have to pay taxes on the total amount of reported winnings is pretty onerous. On our last cruise 2 weeks ago on the Odyssey of the Seas my husband generated 15 W2-G forms for a 7 day Europe cruise! We never win enough to worry about it...maybe that's how we keep getting offers!!🤣
MagnoliaBlossom Posted August 28, 2023 #77 Share Posted August 28, 2023 We have an 8 day cruise in October free courtesy of WinStar Casino, and we hardly ever play there. But free is good and 8 days of “free”dom is great.

But for kicks and giggles yesterday I went on to my account and clicked the email and off to the Carnival site. I just put in the info just to see if it really was "free". Well, to my surprise I was able to get a Aft Balcony for "free"...just had to pay the port and taxes, plus I added the gratuities. I still think it's too good to be true. I even called to pay for it versus the website to ensure it was! 🙂 Anyone else ever gotten this??? I do spend a lot of time in the casino on the ship and here at home 🙂 We booked our 1st every Carnival cruise via Urcomped (casino match service); sailed Miracle to Hawaii last January. Loved it! We certainly do not gamble as much on a cruise as in Vegas; but 9 sea days, well were there each night. We honestly usually only budget about $100 each per night on a cruise. We have had ENDLESS free or dirt cheap cruises emailed to us. I am doing New Caldonia & New Zealand in Feb--2 cruises for 20 days total. $100 plus port fees for each; but $200OBC for each cruise, so essentially costing me $300. Can't beat that! (Used OBC for wifi already) Plus I snag a number of Carnival gift cards at 10% off from AARP to put on my account (OK, to gamble with...) One of my Chase cards also currently has 10% off up to $86 ($860 charged) if I do excursions, drinks, etc. Most generous of any line we have sailed that's for sure!

I'm curious about your opening statement. I have never seen a Carnival cruise being offered through URComped. They work with Royal, Celebrity, Virgin, MSC and just recently some limited NCL, but I have never seen Carnival. Can you speak about that? Do you see additional Carnival cruise offers in your URComped account? Edited August 30, 2023 by kwokpot

During COVID I saw an ad on FB to send your casino players card to Carnival. THAT is how we got it!

mimi_j Posted September 9, 2023 #82 Share Posted September 9, 2023 All of our recent & upcoming cruises are free! The first one my husband booked he called to make the payment because he was afraid it was an internet glitch. He isn't a huge gambler, but it does like watches and jewelry. 😂 The only free cruise we have been wanting to book but haven't booked is a cruise out of Australia, and that's due to their vaccine requirements. Enjoy!!
