wesport Posted February 13, 2023 #1 Share Posted February 13, 2023 Looks like this is the marina day on Seabourn. Only one excursion offered. Much to do on the island, or just beach and snorkeling day?
Cantara24 Posted February 13, 2023 #2 Share Posted February 13, 2023 Unlikely there would be marina day at the Great Harbour anchorage, it is a busy harbour. The community on the harbour where the tenders dock is more of a central area with local services, not really swimmable. You could walk to Foxys. There are shuttles running from the dock over to White Bay which has outstanding beach and home to the Soggy Dollar, Gertrudes & Ivans, all great resto bars. White Bay is highly popular for the day trip sailors so can be lots of boats and people in party mode. It is fun to experience.
Rare WNcruiser Posted February 13, 2023 #3 Share Posted February 13, 2023 (edited) Not much to do except for White bay beach which is absolutely stunning. Seabourn had a free shuttle running from the tender dock to the beach all day. Edited February 13, 2023 by WNcruiser
Dunnedg Posted February 13, 2023 #4 Share Posted February 13, 2023 Not sure your itinerary but if Carambola is on it expect that will be the Caviar in Surf day.
saminina Posted February 14, 2023 #5 Share Posted February 14, 2023 To truly appreciate this island, stick around after the ship sails.

Well, that would make it a verrrry expensive shore excursion! 🤣 @wesport We were on a Regent cruise some years ago and did an excursion from Tortola which brought us over to White Bay on Jost van Dyke. We still talk very fondly of the time we spent on the beach that day, having jerk chicken and cold beer at the One Love Bar & Grill (just a little down the beach from the more famous Soggy Dollar Bar), and feeling we were on the quintessential Caribbean beach. We were looking forward to going back on a Seabourn cruise last year, but they changed the itinerary and we lost Jost van Dyke. But if you don't enjoy sitting on a beach for a few hours, then you can skip going here and enjoy your day onboard.
Astride Posted February 14, 2023 #7 Share Posted February 14, 2023 Jost van Dyke used to be so pristine. White Bay is now just a tourist trap with too many inebriated party goers & mediocre food.
Cantara24 Posted February 14, 2023 #8 Share Posted February 14, 2023 Sorry for your bad experience, must resonate with your failing Montreal roads… you can name any other populist place with the same handle… does not make it a bad place. SG Bar is always a party zone… As Saminina stated, let the populace go away and it becomes a very special place.
