Rare MysteryKnight Posted February 16, 2023 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2023 Not sure if it is the same for every ship, but I was on Norwegian Escape last week, and their paper straws were the best I have ever seen. Typically after sitting in a drink for a while I have found that paper straws start to get soggy, but I never had an issue with whatever the straws they were using were. Just curious if anyone knows what they are made out of or what brand they are?
Rare BirdTravels Posted February 16, 2023 #2 Share Posted February 16, 2023 (edited) Many NCL ships have been using biodegradable straws that preform like plastic straws (unless you get them hot). Amazon has a bunch made up of many different substances (cornstarch, bamboo, vegetable based, plant based). MagnoliaBlossom Posted February 16, 2023 #4 Share Posted February 16, 2023 On the BA in December their straws were bamboo.
MeHeartCruising Posted February 16, 2023 #5 Share Posted February 16, 2023 We had the "good" paper straws on the Joy last week and loved them. Then we went to one bar and they only had the "bad" paper straws. So we stopped going to that bar. The "good" ones last just like the plastic ones did. Rare PTC DAWG Posted February 16, 2023 #6 Share Posted February 16, 2023 (edited) No idea..not a fan of straws. Not very helpful, I know. I'm so used to drinking without a straw, I tend to pour my drink out all over me when I attempt to use one. 🙂 Edited February 16, 2023 by PTC DAWG
Rare YVRteacher Posted February 16, 2023 #7 Share Posted February 16, 2023 NCL straws are made from agave, not bamboo or paper.
