Ephesus OYO - Taxi/Shuttle Service

We are traveling with a group of 8 adults and are thinking of just doing Ephesus on our own with an audio guide which I read we can purchase at entry. My question is - how do you get to Ephesus from the cruise port in Kusadasi? Is it pretty easy to grab a taxi or shuttle to and from the port (without having a tour guide or excursion booked)?

We reserved a taxi in advance. You will need half a day in total. Perfect. Cab was waiting for us at maybe 5 minutes walk from the exit of the port. He brought us to Ephesus and waited at the outside untill our return hours later.... Price will be higher as it was 2015 and we paid €50.... No tickets etc included of course. .

There's no shuttle, as it's not in the city. There's a bus that goes there from Kusadasi, but I think you then have to walk a ways to the entrance.  It was very hot in May and I decided against that option.  I ended up just taking a half day excursion there as we had been there before.  But I imagine you could get a taxi fairly easily. There are two entrances, so keep that in mind if you get a taxi.  One is better for walking down through the site rather than up, but I forget which one that was!  But if you have a taxi wait for you, you'll need to know which exit you'll go to when you're done.
