Can nonrefundable deposit be applied to new booking on same sailing?

Good morning y’all! I have a mini suite reserved for three passengers and my $300 deposit is nonrefundable. When I made my reservation my husband was not approved to take vacation but now things have changed at work and he is able to take the time. I can’t add him to my current cabin with our boys because it only holds three but there is another mini suite that holds 4 passengers. Would Princess apply my $300 deposit to my new booking or would I lose the $300? We are about a week prior to final payment.  I’m planning to call them but just want to get an idea of what y’all think they would do so that I could have a game plan ready to go. Thanks!

You wouldn’t have to make a whole new reservation, just have the one that is currently booked changed to a different cabin and they may even be able to just add your husband for the same price as you paid, provided it is in the same category.  You should not lose your deposit.
Any travel agent or Princess vacation planner worth their weight should be able to do this without issue.

@Cruise Raider is correct, you just need moved to a cabin that sleeps 4. To expedite the process you could go to princess website and do a mock booking for your sailing and see which cabins in your same category sleep 4. Then you can ask the Princess agent to move you to that cabin. Then they can add your husband and you can pay the increased deposit for him. Very easy!

Thank y’all! It just so happens that a travel agent who was trying to get my booking transferred to him called me today to finalize everything.  I told him about the change and he took care of it.  Unfortunately it took him quite a while to get a hold of Princess but he saved me from that!
