Beach break - Orient beach

My wife and I are looking for a beach break while on the island. Beach chairs and some buckets of beer are all we really need.

 

Can anyone suggest a spot on Orient Beach and is taking a cab/shared van outside the port the easiest way?

Have done it many times.  We have always loved the Kontiki bar when visiting on a cruise ship.  Usually just take a shared van and agree upon a pickup time going back.    We actually just spent a week on Orient Beach mid February and spent more time at the KKO Beach Bar since it was in front of our hotel.    The wifi was much better out in the beach chairs there.   Very similar food quality to Kontiki.  Many of the beach bars are owned by the same company.

I second Kontiki or Bikini.  I was just there and went to Wai Plage and was disappointed in both the food, service and there was a lot of seaweed.  Further down the beach by Kontiki was considerably better.
