Room assignment POA

We booked months ago and we still haven't been assigned a room. Final payment isn't until June, am I getting ahead of myself? Anyone who asked on the POA what were your experiences on room assignment? Did you use a TA?

If you booked a guarantee room, your room will be assigned any time between now and the time you get to the port.

While technically true, I had hoped to hear of experiences where rooms were assigned before the last second....

I've booked several guaranteed cabins directly with NCL. On one time my room was assigned the day after I made my reservations. But usually I found my cabin # 30 - 60 days before the cruise.
