Tours Nanortalik Greenland

Greenland "ports" are not places where you will typically find "tours."  (Not saying there are none, but there is no great tourist infrastructure supporting cruise ships, and the "ports" are typically small places.)

Nanortalik is a lovely, tiny little town.  Walk around, take it all in, and be sure to go through the open air museum.  Also, the local folks typically put on a choir performance in the church when a ship is there. (At least they did pre-covid.)

Town has fewer people than the ship (we were on old Sea Princess).  Locals will dress up in furs and show you how they used to live in tents.  Tiny beautiful church (top photo in post above).  Locals also put on show of dance and food in their new gym.  Kids hung around the tender dock laughing and practicing their language skills at the tourists - very friendly.

Gift shop is tiny but has great locally made items.  At the time an imported calendar was over $30 but locally handmade reindeer fur elbow length ladies gloves were $17.  Also bought a carving from antler.  They did NOT want cash - no way to spend it and really no banking facilities.  Credit card purchases went directly into the community fund.

Lines for tenders were LONG and took 2 hours for us to get off.  And a bit chilly - 40 degrees and 40 knot winds in September.

you could try internet searching "Nanortalik Tours" to see if there are any results.

As pointed out above, Greenland is "different" and as most towns and settlements are not connected by road, any tours would usually be by plane or boat.

We actually enjoyed Nanortalik as we watched the local music and dance show in a hall, listened to the choir singing in the church (beautiful) and watched a kayak display. Also did walkabout of the little there is to walkabout, and enjoyed seeing the few who had dressed in traditional sealskin outfits from head to toe.,  It was a dry and bright sunny day and there were many flowers.  if the choir in the church is offered, do not miss it.  It was very popular and some pax missed out.

The town used to offer these varied activities/displays pre-covid, but I have no idea if they still do.

YouTube has some video clips of Nanortalik if you choose to look.
