MURCOTT Posted February 27, 2023 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2023 Flying from Boston to Rome and cruising trans Atlantic back on Carnival. Checked Fly2 fun, Carnivals air program, and they found ITA direct flight for $291.56. That seems impossible because the ITA site shows the exact flight for over $2,900. Wondering if anyone has had experience on ITA, and could share info about it. Although we were given confirmation #'s we can't look at the booking on their site for 48 hours. If something seems too good to be true, it usually is! Did we make a mistake? Barbara
Rare FlyerTalker Posted February 28, 2023 #2 Share Posted February 28, 2023 You would be getting negotiated rate bulk tickets. Cruiseline air is not the same as air from the airline directly.

To add one detail to what FlyerTalker says, this will very probably be because the negotiated rate to the cruise line allows one-way tickets at the same discount levels as normally available only to the public for round-trip tickets. Think of it as being able to buy half a $600 round-trip ticket. The airline is probably not prepared to sell cheapie one-way tickets to the public (which is the usual situation), hence the public-facing price its website is offering.
