Explorer 2 - Balcony size with bulky furniture taking up space.

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Be gentle its my first post...

We did a very enjoyable eastern med cruise last year on Explorer 2.  Now looking for Caribbean options for next winter.  One aspect on Explorer 2 that was really irritating was that accepting the balcony is going to be small, the furniture and particularly the table were huge and took up most of the space. Tempting to tip the table overboard to make some space (joking, not really).

So the question - what are the other ships (particularly Discovery) like?  Sensible small side-tables & chairs leaving sufficient room to comfortably sit out, or the same tight squeeze?

Cheers and thanks for your input.

If you want a larger balcony,  you can book these on Explorer.  There are 2 chairs, table, sunbed  and a hammock. However we found that room is taken off the cabin to make room for the larger balcony, personally we would prefer the room on the inside rather than the outside. Also, it's a personal thing, but I couldn't use the hammock while sailing as it made me feel sick with the movement !

Can recommend any deck eight stern cabins, two sunbeds and chairs plus table and still lots of space.

We always booked 8086 it's central and the largest. 😎😎

That would be my choice too, but they are only on the Discovery class ships

and I want to do the Adriatic... :classic_sad:
