Aurea Class Mini-fridge

First time MSC. In all the videos I've seen it looks like the fridges are always locked. We are booked in a aurea grand suite with a beverage package.  Does anyone know if our fridge will be unlocked? I know if I book yacht club it's unlocked. Thanks!

I assume you mean physically locked? The mini fridge is unlocked regardless of the experience booked. Until the last evening, the cabin steward will physically lock it, when your account is made up to date for disembarking. The contents maybe chargeable, but the door isn't locked - otherwise they'd make no profit on the mini bar items!

If you find that it is locked (like I did last week on Mera) just ask your steward to unlock it and enjoy. As previously stated, the contents are not covered in the drink package.

Ok thanks. I could really care a less about the contents. I like having access to the fridge for my own use. On other lines I get free minibar so never thought about it. I guess the steward can just remove the contents so I'm not charged.

Exactly. Empty it out and store desserts for late night snacks. Unlike other lines, after midnight there’s really no food to be found.

Been on 3 MSC cruises from Miami, 1 Fantastica and 2 Aurea and have never had the mini fridge locked.  Asked the cabin steward to empty it on the first day of each cruise and it's always been done when we came back from dinner.
