Upgrade on Sold Out Cruise

Just wondering. Our May 27 Majestic Cruise to Alaska is Sold Out.  Has anyone received an upgrade bid on a Sold Out Cruise.

Yes, from inside to balcony on sold out Thanksgiving cruise. Bid minimum 2 weeks out, bid accepted 2 days before sail date. They play musical cabins right up to sail date.

Yes!  Sailed Thanksgiving week on the Discovery Princess, and our bid was accepted, balcony to mini-suite.

I have active bids on my 4/22 Caribbean Princess cruise. It's been sold out for a couple of weeks now.

Yeah - it’s similar to hotel rooms.  Doesn’t really cost anything different if you’re in the inside or balcony room - they might as well get some extra money from you for the upgrade.

Also keep in mind, the company that handles the bidding for upgrade program, is collecting data on how much passengers are willing to ‘bid’. 
 

There will always be the possibility of last minute cancellations, but I have seen posts on other lines saying why are bids being asked for as that category has been sold out.
