Mooning around the Mediterranean

The rain stopped so I got the 1130 shuttle into the town and walked around. Actually a few nice buildings.

I was now at the fishing port and just like this fellow was too late to see anything.

 

Came across some interesting vehicles. Didn't realise I was going to see a lot more.

I now reached the main Square and you might notice what caught my attention.

 

There was going to be a car rally begin that day.

And it featured a lot of old cars. There were quite a few Fiats. Our local guide the day before told us how Fiat got it's name -Fix It Again Tony.

Nice to see the cars - I like the Fiat story; reminds me of Lotus (a make my husband had lots of in his time) - lots of trouble, usually serious.  Which was a very accurate description of them.

Headed back to the shuttle bus stop the long way.

Lovely to see the AH frog eye Sprite. My first car and cost me all of £100.

I had just come through the banking district. This name tickled my fancy.

 

I was now back at the shuttle stop. Unfortunately just missed one and had to wait half an hour. An amusing incident as the bus was about to leave. A couple came to the bus and asked if it could wait while they went off to the WC. The woman was possibly an influencer as when off the ship wore a white pants suit and had a Fendi bag which she made sure had the logo showing whenever she had her photo taken. The guide at the bus stop obviously told the driver what they had said and his reply was immediately understood. "Non e speciale" and immediately took off.

Got back just in time to have lunch at Kaiseki and went with sashimi only.

 

That night it was a special show as well as the crew parade following. Now Queen are probably my favourite band so I usually don't miss that show. This time however this group were the best of any of the Queen shows and deservedly got a long standing ovation.

I hope I caught some of the energy they expended. I talked to most of them the next day and extended my congratulations personally. thet were thankful and said they were exhausted and after a quick dinner reired early that night.

Then the Captain and the crew parade.

After the show it was back to Atlantide. The days specials.

 

My wine. Very nice drinking wine.

 

And the food. We both started with the beef tartare.

 

I then had the spaghetti aglio olio as an intermediate dish which I enjoyed.

 

Rojaan then had the salmon special and I had the steak Rossini. We both enjoyed our meals.

The next morning we anchored off Portofino.

  Then a tender ride into town.

Lots of gull. I got one who had caught something.

 

The ducks must have had a late night.

5 groups then boarded a large ferry to visit Chiavari and Santa Margherita. The Moon at anchor.

Now a walk in Chiavari. Most of it was free time.
