loveandcruises Posted May 7, 2023 #1 Share Posted May 7, 2023 We are interested in taking the #10 jitney to Goodman's Bay Beach (the same place the Royal Caribbean "beach break" shore excursion goes to). I've read we can take the #10 jitney and it costs $1.25 per person. 1) Where do we get on the Jitney near the port? 2) Do they take US dollars? Exact change? Rothko1 Posted May 7, 2023 #2 Share Posted May 7, 2023 I can't answer about where to get the Jitneys. Used to be near the old British Colonial Hotel, but I don't know now. As far as money, they absolutely will take US currency. The Bahamian dollar is pegged to the US, so they will gladly accept US currency.
mets123 Posted May 7, 2023 #3 Share Posted May 7, 2023 As you leave the port area, take a right and go down two or three blocks and you'll see them.
blue_water Posted May 11, 2023 #4 Share Posted May 11, 2023 When you get out of the port area take a right (going toward the straw market and Senior Frog’s) and walk 2 blocks or so to Frederick St. You will see buses lined up at main bus stop on the corner of Bay St. Just look for a #10 jitney, board and tell the driver Goodman’s Bay. They usually remember, and will probably be dropping others there. But it is normal to say “bus stop please” when you get close. The fare is $1.25 (USD or Bahamian, exact change), you hand it to the driver as you get off. Just flag a bus for your return, buses will stop if they have space… 1
blue_water Posted May 11, 2023 #5 Share Posted May 11, 2023 Meant to add you may board a #12 or another bus, just as long as they are going that direction…

No, there is a stop there because it’s a popular spot. But if you are anywhere along the road and they have the space to pull over for you they will do that too…😄 Very friendly! Except for Willy 🤷🏼
