Carnival Venezia’s new Italian Restaurant: ‘IL VIAGGIO’

@CruizinSusan70 what menus are these - NCL?

Yes, Onda by Scarpetta.  I mentioned the venue at the beginning of the post and then posted links to the actual menus.  We went to that venue twice on our 7 day Encore cruise and 4 times during our 25 days over three different cruises on the Prima.  Excellent venue.

I agree that the menu doesn't seem that different from a few local(ish) places. That isn't a deal breaker to me. What leads me away from here is that there are so many upcharges on the menu after the upcharge just to walk in the door. That and in the original announcement for the ship they mentioned that the MDR will feature items from the Italian restaurant on the other Carnival ships. So, if the mood really strikes me, I can eat in the MDR for Italian fare.

That's my internal debate.

We are booked for the Sept 23rd sailing and times are starting to fill up.  So excited for this ship! 😀

Have you booked Il Viaggio? We've had it in our cart a few times, but just haven't pulled the trigger yet.

Now that there's been an actual cruise under Carnival, I'd be interested in reading feedback from someone who actually ate at Il Viaggio.

What did you think?

What was good/bad?

Would you eat there again?

B2B in Sept on Venezia and need to make a decision about booking Il Viaggio.

Thanks for your feedback!

Ate there three times. It was all great but I do have my preferences.

I ate there once on the TA.  World of difference between food quality here and Steakhouse, yet the price difference ($42 vs $48) is miniscule.  Mussels in the seafood stew were disgusting.  Everything else was ok or better - the concept and execution all worked, but the food quality was lacking.  Not MDR-lacking, but not a good experience.
