Panama City and Colon

We are doing a southern Caribbean cruise from Colon Panama in December. Questions:

1. Due to flight times, we will arrive in Panama City the day before, and might have to wait until day after disembarkation to fly home. Can anyone recommend things to do and see between flight and cruise? 

2. There will be eight of us, including one toddler. Can anyone recommend a transfer service from Panama City to Colon?
