Rare cruisn71 Posted May 23, 2023 #1 Share Posted May 23, 2023 Hello, My DW and I each have a special pricing offer from HAL. Is it possible for each of us to book a room, have one of my parents as the second person in the room, and then change who is in which room later? I would book with my dad as the second person in the room and my wife would book with my mom. We would then want to swap around so my parents are together and my DW and I are together. Any thoughts? CruiserBruce Posted May 23, 2023 #2 Share Posted May 23, 2023 Is this direct from HAL or from a TA? In either case, if they see a second cabin being booked, they might extend the rate to the second cabin without any dancing with whom is it what room. We used to do this occasionally with our TA and some family members. So, I would contact whomever you will book with and see if they will extend the special pricing to your parents. Rare Haljo1935 Posted May 23, 2023 #3 Share Posted May 23, 2023 We had this same scenario Nieuw Amsterdam B2B Feb '23 and Koningsdam B2B Nov/Dec '22. Both times we had to book 1 cabin each using the person who had the offer as Guest 1 to get the rate. Then once onboard, just go to Guest Services and tell them you want to swap cabins (who you want in which cabin). They'll fix it on the spot and give new keys. Both times, they told us "we don't care who sleeps where, but we need accurate names per cabin for proper billing." We tried at time of booking to do do it differently as well as call in after booking to get it changed, but they wouldn't do it b/c the rate offers are tied to Mariner number. KAKcruiser Posted May 23, 2023 #4 Share Posted May 23, 2023 I thought you could book multiple cabins with the private fares tied to mariner numbers. Maybe you are talking about a casino offer?

This is what I am looking to do. Thank you!

Maybe you are talking about a casino offer? It is one of the free interior stateroom offers, but not a casino offer.

We usually book with our PCC directly with HAL. I'll talk to her to see what she can do. We can always do the onboard room swap around. happy2cruise2016 Posted May 24, 2023 #8 Share Posted May 24, 2023 Another question along the same line...we have two rooms booked with no special rates involved. My daughter and 14 year old granddaughter are in one room and my husband and I are in the other. My husband doesn't drink due to medication he is taking, but my daughter and I enjoy several drinks a day. Would there be a problem changing me into the same room as my daughter to purchase a beverage package and then book my granddaughter with my husband...then change rooms once onboard. Both rooms will be on the same credit card for onboard expenses.
