ExpatBride Posted May 28, 2023 #1 Share Posted May 28, 2023 It looks like Princess is doing DIY muster drills... watch a video, check-in at your muster station. Is this also the case on HAL? Not that it really matters, I'm just curious 😊

Very quick and easy. 1

Mosaic Posted May 28, 2023 #4 Share Posted May 28, 2023 On the larger ships you do not go to the muster station. You watch the video and go to a preassigned room on the ship and just get scanned and leave. Easier than the Zaandam! 1
Mosaic Posted May 28, 2023 #5 Share Posted May 28, 2023 No life jackets or waiting either, btw.
Rare Haljo1935 Posted May 28, 2023 #6 Share Posted May 28, 2023 If it's not already on, turn your TV on when you first enter your cabin - the mandatory safety video will begin playing The TV will not change to other channels until the safety video plays.

On my last 2 cruises I’ve waited several hours for the video to show. I’ve done a lot of cruises so it’s not confusion on my part. It eventually did show. OlsSalt Posted May 28, 2023 #9 Share Posted May 28, 2023 Muster drills today look like they are of no value whatsoever training the crew to respond in an actual emergency, when all passengers must operate as a whole, together, in a very short period of time.

In case of emergency, that is the place you would report to.
