Solo Traveller Offers

Evening all, I've had an email today from P&O who have "so much to tell me" and one of the sections in that email states that there is no single supplement for solo travellers on some 2023 cruises.

When I click on it to look it lists just three cruises, does anyone know if there is way to find out which other holidays might have this offer or is it just a case of clicking on all of them to find out?

Don’t go looking for what doesn’t exist. It may be that it’s only those three.

My travel agent tells me that is the case and says no doubt when others don't sell by other means there could be more. I think I booked 2 from 7-8 offered from late 2022 up until March 2023

Although there is still a single supplement, I can see at least two Aurora cruises which only have 20% supplement at the moment.

Fjords 10th June 2023 -  12 nights - £719 total for inside

Fjords 29th June 2023 -  12 nights - £779 total for inside

There can be some good solo deals around, however usually it is by chance to find them. One Travel agent in Cardiff  also  specialises in solo cruises and gets some good deals although usually the saver fare, however I have found cheaper than has been offered on direct with P&O with Select fare, taking into account the obc offered, also a well known web only uk website  to book your cruise online only, can also offer some great solo deals and its a great website to check the solo prices.  They also have a human website to book cruises  were you can speak directly, Its a matter of looking at the minefield and delving into it for the best solo price. Sometimes the more expensive select fares with obc can be cheaper than the TA offering a Saver Fare.

This year they had all the Canaries cruises between January & March 2023 with no single supplements in the run up to Christmas  might be worth checking the pricing on the January - March 2024 canaries cruises if those appeal to you.

Ouch. I booked a solo balcony cabin on that cruise a long time ago, and paid a lot more than that (though I thought it was a good price at the time).

Would it be allowed to let us all know on here when there is a no supplement offer on?

I can't see why not - as long as it is a general offer and not by one particular agent.

More widely, I was just looking at the page that email linked to. It keeps mentioning "drinks receptions" but I've never seen a drinks party especially for solos. There is also an FAQ section on solo cruising but it really doesn't tell you anything and much of it seems a work of fiction...

I can't help you with that Britboys, I'm actually not a solo traveller myself but have a friend who would like to travel with us.

How anyone can justify the price they quote single passengers (not just P&O) is beyond me!

I've been a solo cruiser since my partner died in 2012. Never seen a special drinks reception for us...

Only one special drinks event I have seen was  on Britannia many years ago for Baltic and Ligurian only. Did not even get Peninsular cocktail party on this Arcadia cruise due to norovirus, just one free drink voucher.
