Ravenna - Buy Early?

There is a handy pass that can be bought onsite or online. It gives you entrance to 5 or 6 of the key sites where the amazing mosaics of the late Imperial Roman period can be seen. These include two large basilicas, one mausoleum (behind and very close to one of the basilicas), two baptisteries, and the archepiscopal palace.

Not included in the ticket (but also worthwhile) are the archaeological museum (also very close to San Vitale Basilica and the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia), a Roman villa under a church with extensive mosaics, and of course the place where Dante is buried.

You can find info about the pass here:   https://www.ravennamosaici.it/en/entrance-time-and-prices/

The San Vitale Basilica is probably the most stunning but they are all amazing. The Galla Placidia mausoleum is tiny but SO well worth seeing even if there is a line. (I was lucky enough to have the place to myself on a chilly November day in 2019...)
