Have you done Northstar? Opinions, please.

The pay per view one swings way over the side of the moving ship, way more scary and exciting than docked.  I'd even pay for it again.  Don't knock it till you've tried it.

After the first 30 secords of being high thats about it really you look around the view take some pics and thats it. 

 

I think its a waste of money and space on the ship tbh, hence why no-one else copying it. 

 

But if you can get it free then why not go and enjoy it.

But you need to chose your travelling companions wisely. Excluding the operator, out of the seven of us, two had a fear of heights and needed to be comforted by their companions.

It's just the same as at work in a high level access boom platform, but the northstar is enclosed  and the access boom is open to the elements

We did the free one on Anthem in the port for Bilbao at the beginning of this month. Unfortunately it was a cloudy day and the port views were nothing special anyway. Worth doing in somewhere spectacular such as Sydney but otherwise monotonous worth paying. From an engineering perspective the North Star must add a lot of weight to the top of the ship and can’t do much for its centre of gravity.

We were on the Ovation and did the free version of North Star our first day. We enjoyed it and had a wonderful view of Sydney. But we wouldn’t do it if we had to pay for it or do it when the ship was at sea.

Its a complete waste of space on a ship. 

 

Pure useless gimmick. 

 

Especially now on sea days they charge 19 USD to go on it for 16 mins. 

 

On Anthem there is not enough places to sit on deck and there was almost fights breaking out over sunbeds. 

 

Why you need even higher view of an already 16 deck ship i dont know but this comes back to royal wanting to use gimmicks to separate themselves from other lines alone with that useless robotic bar they keep putting on ships now which is devoid of guests and is barely used.
