KirbyMcK Posted June 16, 2023 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2023 Considering bidding for an upgrade to larger balcony, however cabin is completely forward- facing. Anyone have experience with the “rockiness” or feeling seasick with waves hitting the hull? Hubby is worried it may affect him…
Rare All-ready2cruise Posted June 16, 2023 #2 Share Posted June 16, 2023 If you are or have a tendency to be sea sick, I'd stay away from forward facing cabins. Aft facing can be a bit better but not always. I love the motion of the ocean but not everyone does. Good luck.
Rare YVRteacher Posted June 16, 2023 #3 Share Posted June 16, 2023 (edited) I get incredibly seasick (and manage this with acupressure bands and medication every 12 hours.) Staying in a forward facing suite was a whole new level of movement. You feel the movement in four directions (front, back, side to side.) It isn’t so much that waves are hitting the hill but more an ever-present movement that is disconcerting for those prone to seasickness. I wouldn’t book that cabin type again. Our balcony wasn’t usable and we didn’t like that. Edited June 16, 2023 by YVRteacher
Rare luv2kroooz Posted June 16, 2023 #4 Share Posted June 16, 2023 In rocky seas, forward cabins will experience more motion than mid ship cabins on lower decks. Wind much more pronounced out front when at sea.
UKstages Posted June 16, 2023 #5 Share Posted June 16, 2023 generally speaking... rocky. so, you can imagine my surprise when i found apollo creed in my forward cabin once.
mjkacmom Posted June 16, 2023 #6 Share Posted June 16, 2023 Met a couple on our first cruise on CC, they actually parked in our driveway and we shared a car service to Manhattan and split the cost. They were upgraded to a forward suite, so rocky and they couldn’t really use their balcony at sea.
cruisekitty22 Posted June 16, 2023 #7 Share Posted June 16, 2023 I wouldn't risk that cabin if you are prone to seasickness. .

GORDONCHICK Posted June 16, 2023 #9 Share Posted June 16, 2023 Just say no if you are prone to sea sickness. I stck to midship. Sometimes what they consider an upgrade isn't an upgrade to us.
