Rangiroa DIY beach/swim

I'd love some help in understanding how to visit Rangiroa.  We tender of course, but I can't figure out where on the atoll we would disembark from the tenders.  Are there good swimming beaches near the port?  DIY snorkeling?  Or, are there boats/cabs available to go to a good swimming beach?  We're scheduled from 8-5 in port.  I'd love some recommendations and/or general experience here.  Thanks.

hope this opens for you. Tender will be right near Snack Chez Lili. You may have to enlarge the map to see it. The best snorkeling is at the Aquarium which is a 5 minute (at most) boat ride from the tender location.  You will need to reserve this in advance.

Thanks for the info.  My husband isn't wild about snorkeling.  Is Rangiroa a good place for swimming?  What else did you do there?  Is there a swimming beach near the tender port?

Your best option would be at the Kia Ora Hotel, if they offer a day pass.  I know you can go there for a cocktail but I’m not sure if you can then access the beach. It is about a 20 minute walk from the tender location. Easy walk but it can be very hot. We stayed there for 4 nights a few years ago.
