I guess I have just been unlucky because on my last 4 cruises in past 2 years, not one room was refurbished.  All I have seen redone is The Retreat and Retreat Deck.

However, at our first port, walking back to the ship, we saw workers on the balconies.  Sure enough, they had re-varnished the railings (or whatever one does to the railing to make it look nice again😊). 

I wood like the unvarnished railings over gray metal railings. Nice to see X is re-varnishing verses replacing with metal railings
