orlando to port of miami

I will also be taking the train for my September 6th cruise... no more driving down for me/us. And really it's not so much the Miami traffic as it is the uncertainty about where on the turnpike an accident is going to occur that is going to hold me up. With so few exits you can sit for quite a long time with really no option to go anywhere. Everyone else has already commented on the proximity between Ft Lauderdale and Miami so nothing new to add there.

As also mentioned, there are plenty of stops along the way if you want to spend a night or two elsewhere and get back on the train to finish the trip to Miami. My friend that I travelled with in April took the train from Boca down to Miami on the morning of our cruise (she had flown from Houston in to Boca to visit with family) and had a very easy time getting a taxi to get her to where she needed to be.
