NCL excursion

Trying to fill the ferry seats.

We booked a snorkeling tour in April. When we got down the pier to the ferry, the tour operator told us that they were not doing snorkeling because the waters have been too cloudy for weeks. And that we could either take his other beach day tour or we were on our own.

After we got back onboard, I escalated through the ShoreEx management all the way to the general manager. We wasted half the morning waiting for a ferry,  and then had to negotiate with NCL’s vendor on the dock, and waste 2 hours on the ferry. If I wanted a beach day, I would have taken a taxi at the port to a local beach. The GM refunded our shoreex money and sent a lovely fruit plate.

My main point was that I should not be negotiating with NCL’s slimy bait-and-switch vendor on the dock. The vendor should inform NCL of the cancellation and NCL should have given us options. The vendor wanted to keep the ferry full and doing a late start doesn’t give people any opportunity to book something else.
