Hello all

It’s been so great to see other reviews and tips so adding my own.

First time Celebrity cruiser and have previously cruised NCL, Princess and Regent as well as now defunct MyTravel round the Med ( similar to TUI I imagine)

We drove down to Southampton from Birmingham which took about 3 hours. Had pre booked parking at ABP which was £98 for the week. Super easy and just left the cases by the car and they did arrive at our cabin later. We arrived at about 12.15 with a 12.30 boarding and were on and at the Sunset bar by 12.45. Super easy and so much better than flights!

We had already upgraded to Premium Bev package as we like good wine and gin and DH likes his bourbon.

we had a balcony cabin- absolutely fine for the two of us and reasonable storage. Very comfy bed and linens and our steward Pratik was great at getting in and out when weren’t there

We used the main dining (anytime) about 4 times. Never had to wait. Food and service always good and sometimes exceptional. Loved the daily bread basket. The only poor main course was  the always available salmon ( overdone to my taste) but other than that always something to have and generally good

A couple of outstanding sommeliers who always made sure wine glasses were never empty ( Helena and Joe).

We did Murano and Lawn club with our OBC. I cannot say enough about Murano- we eat out a lot including Michelin star places and we were so impressed with the service and the food. Charles the sommelier asked about preferences and brought us off the list wines and Lydia was wonderful with menu selection. We were encouraged to order as much as we wanted  - 2 of this, have extra this - no question of extra charges. The table side lobster, the cheese trolley and the soufflés were amazing. Cannot recommend this enough.

Lawn Club was good but the “flatbread” was a whole pizza and the salad bar a bit underwhelming. Nice venue, great grilled food and the desserts were good. Fab service again

Martini bar was great but difficult to get a seat at the bar. We spent more time at Craft Social where Bhavik and Hero were superb. We had a couple of drinks at World Class Bar and that was excellent- I Made was great. Not really sure why we didn’t go more often.

Our favourite ship. Thanks for the reviews.

Have you been to Ensemble Lounge yet?

Also, later in the evening the Sky Lounge is always our last port of call.

Glad you’re enjoying yourselves.

We didn’t get to Ensemble but some people we spoke to did and enjoyed it. Sky Lounge was great for trivia and Headline the band

Glad to hear Hero is still working for X and in a Craft Social. That is where he previously worked on Equinox.

He was fantastic- and when you chatted to him about his life and family - what a great guy!

We didn’t do shows but enjoyed some of the music. Headline the Band was fun with some great singers including DH! We also did Trivia a few times.

Pool deck and buffet were packed on the 2 sea days but we found space as long as you didn’t mind a shady spot. The buffet for breakfast and lunch was very good. Less choice in the evening but that seemed to be because not many people used it. Drinks service in the buffet wasn’t great - we got served wine that was undrinkable even though we specified premium. We only did that once.

Casino was never busy and was non smoking which I appreciated.

Ports we just did our own thing although Vigo was a bit dull and we wish we had booked a trip. Lisbon and Porto were amazing. Lisbon you just turn left and can walk into the centre. We bought bus/tram tickets for about €7 and went to Belem and then the Time Out Market. Porto there were free shuttle buses to the centre and we visited a Port cellar (Quevedo - highly recommend) for lovely port and cheese and then went on the cable car. Again super easy to do on your own and no need for a trip. La Coruña we just had a little walk along a pretty sea front and the Town Square. Very cute and nice and flat (compared to Lisbon hills!)

So overall we really enjoyed Celebrity. Really thought the service was excellent. Food and drink was good sometimes great. Quite a laid back grown up vibe. Other guests seemed like minded and up for a chat.

Happy to answer any questions

Thank you for the info about doing Porto on your own. About how long does the shuttle bus take from the port where the ship is to the center of town?

It was about 40 minutes - the time for the last shuttle back was 3.45 when we were there

Wondering what options there were on the TV in your stateroom. Not that we cruise to watch TV but it is sometimes nice to have news on getting ready for dinner or an old movie when trying  to get to sleep
