MinnCruzer Posted July 9, 2023 #1 Share Posted July 9, 2023 We will be sailing on the Odyssey of the Seas in October 2023 on a Holy Land cruise with stops in Haifa & Ashdod. There has been some reported violence recently in Israel and I’m looking for a resource to find out if current cruises are having to cancel the Israel port of calls because of it. I understand it is common for parts of Israel to have outbreaks of violence but I am uncertain how this is effecting cruise ships.
Ashland Posted July 9, 2023 #2 Share Posted July 9, 2023 Cruise lines will change their port stops if/when necessary. Not sure when you will be notified but you will be.

Follow Odyssey in cruisemapper and compare her actual itinerary with the planned one.
CruisinNole Posted July 9, 2023 #4 Share Posted July 9, 2023 A friend was on a cruise last week that stopped at both ports. It wasn't a Royal cruise.
kitkat343 Posted July 9, 2023 #5 Share Posted July 9, 2023 I'm assuming you are also looking at the destination board for Israel. Hopefully people are posting there. Best of luck to you.
Tlbecker1 Posted July 9, 2023 #6 Share Posted July 9, 2023 We were on the Rhapsody TA that ended in Haifa. There were so many postings of problems/issues and we still toured Jerusalem and Bethlehem with no issues. We also enjoyed Tel Aviv.
steveru621 Posted July 9, 2023 #7 Share Posted July 9, 2023 No one can tell you in advance. We were on the May 2023 Odessey Holyland cruise, our third TRY. Well, they were throwing rockets at each other. RCI canceled Jerusalem (Ashdod) and re-scheduled the second stop in Israel, Haifa. The ship arrived in Hafia, we even went through Israel CBP. Then 5 hours later, with gunboats patrolling the port, the captain announced we were leaving. <SAD>

I am happy that we were able to do the TA, enjoy Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Bethlehem and be back home by 5-19.
Badatz2 Posted July 10, 2023 #9 Share Posted July 10, 2023 At present there are no disruptions in any region. However, Oct 2023 is way off and nobody knows what will happen next week anywhere and especially in Israel. Like the other posters said just check before you cruise and if there is anything serious Royal will let you know. Enjoy your trip to Israel
