Can cash be used in the casino?

Traveling on the Escape in September with my sister and BIL. My sister loves the slots and was wondering if you can use cash instead of the credit. Thanks for any help.

you can add dollar bills to the slot machine. it does not give you dollar bills back when you cash out, instead you get a printed ticket thingy that you take to the casino desk to get cash

Feed dollars in, play until you want to move and hit "cash out" and will get a paper ticket. Feed into next machine and keep going.
Same as any US/CND  or elsewhere casinos.

There's an option to charge slot play to your cabin but you will incur a 3% convenience fee.

The casino operates on US Dollars. The machines and tables work exactly the same as Atlantic City... stick a bill into the machine and hopefully get a bigger voucher back. 

 

Your sister should insert her room key in the machines to track her play (same as using a players card at a land-based casino). Next cruise, she may be eligible for a discount or comp'ed cruise next time.  

 

If you need cash onboard, you can advance against your room account. The ship will charge you a 3% service charge for those transactions. So, if you advance $500, there is a $15 service charge for that transaction. If you use the ATMs onboard, there is a $7 service charge for any amount (which is actually cheaper than ACY's ATMs).

I recommend using the ships players club card to track play. Put it on a lanyard so it is not left behind in a machine. I do not put my room key in the machines. This keeps your room card available if you order a drink, and you do not have to worry about leaving it behind.
