Bank of America redemption 500 off not applied 2 months later?

Hi there.  We have a cruise booked in November and final payment is next month.  We cashed in 50,000 bank of America points to take 500 dollars off the cost of our cruise, almost 2 months ago. The 500.00 still has not come off and when we call and ask about it, we are told that it won't come off until closer to final payment.  That sounds strange to me.  Is that the norm?

I have heard others say the same thing about the points being applied closer to final payment date. In my experience however, the credit is usually applied within two weeks of my request. I usually apply the credit about a month or two before final payment so that falls within the window that you are looking at. Give it a couple more weeks and see what happens. If it's not there a couple weeks before final payment, I'd call and apply more pressure for an answer why.
