Eeyoregon Posted July 20, 2023 #1 Share Posted July 20, 2023 Hello. Visiting PV in September. Would like to since we are in port nearly 12 hours, we'd like some beach time and then spend some time at the Malecon. Beach wise, I don't want crashing/rough waves. Any beach recommendations, maybe between the cruise terminal and the Malecon? Thank you in advance for your help and suggestions Gina
Ine Posted July 21, 2023 #2 Share Posted July 21, 2023 (edited) The best beach with calm waters are either in Nuevo Vallarta, far north of Puerto Vallarta or in Mismaloya south of Puerto Vallarta. In both cases you need a cab to get there. However there is hardly any public beach that rents out chairs etc. Some hotels in Nuevo give out daypasses. Mismaloya is more or less the same. Playa Palmares, a bit north of Mismaloya has a nice beach and often you can rent chairs and umbrellas there. Again a cab is needed to get there. Beaches in general in Vallarta can have rough waves, which is of course not always happening. Playa los Muertes near the pier in centre has some nice restaurants, El Dorado and La Palapa offer beachclub facilities for a daily rate. https://www.eldoradopvr.com/beach-club Edited July 21, 2023 by Ine
tonit964 Posted July 21, 2023 #3 Share Posted July 21, 2023 Keep in mind, there can be hurricane/tropical storm activity at that time so your port day is not guaranteed. We missed PV last September due to hurricane Orlean.
lasvegascruising Posted July 23, 2023 #4 Share Posted July 23, 2023 Mismaloya is a bit far but WOW! So beautiful. You should look into a trip there. I have seen folks rent a car for the day and find their way down there. I have talked to a couple that were staying in PV and took the city bus.
