"Antigua On Your Own" Excursion Questions

If we should decide to do an "Antigua On Your Own" excursion, are there decent restaurant/bars where we can kick back for an hour or so.

 

Any restaurant recommendations?

There are lots of places to eat in Antigua, though I have no personal recommendations.  Many seem to have lovely courtyards.  Even the McDonalds has a nice outdoor eating area (didn't eat there, just looked inside).

We were there in January, plenty of places to eat.  We were tight on time but wish we had time.  We hired a private guide and he took us through some of the amazing court yards of the restaurants

There are great restaurants in ANTIGUA     San Martin is a wonderful bakery/resturant.  Can’t tell you where it is but have been then several times - great coffe shops/ ice cream places.  The is a nice Jade shop.   Lots of walking pay attention to where you are because it all looks the same. It’s cobblestone and on the sidewalks. The windows stick out so pay attention to what you’re doing. Go find the Market in the middle and haggle for everything.
