Medication on Transatlantic flight and cruise back.

Hi, we fly from Uk to Miami for 3 days and then a Transatlantic cruise back. 

Can anyone tell me how they work out their medication with the time difference please.

No doubt it depends on your particular medication, if it needs to be taken at particular intervals or a less precise timing. I take some meds with breakfast and some with dinner, so just keep to that routine - but I have nothing that's critical about timing. And, of course, it's only a 5 hour difference for Miami. 

 

By the by, we're doing a similar transatlantic next year.

This is exactly the type of question you should ask your pharmacist.  This is the type of knowledge they have and each medication has its own characteristics as far as its dosing and blood levels and activities

Thank you for your replies.Our cruise isn't till next year but I had forgot about the medication timing, and just thought I would ask what other people do.

I suspect that all meds. have a time tolerance which would cover the occasional taking a few hours sooner or later than prescribed.

Check the info leaflet that comes with the meds.  On mine the only advice on timing is not to double-up if you missed a dose, and to take at a particular time of day - that's to do with eating & sleeping patterns rather than the number of hours. 

But check with your surgery or pharmacy if in doubt
