Hotels near Carnival Cruise Port in New York

Recommended Posts

Hey @familycruising4ever we are going out of NYC in Sept and really struggled to find what we considered an affordable hotel that was semi-convenient to Manhattan cruise terminal. We only needed 1 night and were hoping to be all in <$200. CC posters suggested not staying on the other side of the river, but that's where the majority of hotels in our budget are located.

The ones on this side of the river that fit our criteria required booking for more than 1 night.

There were many private apartments available  - you may want to look at those.

Watch out, Airbnb and vrbo are illegal in NYC, if you have an issue you are out of luck.

We booked a hotel across the river. Others on this thread mentioned apartments as an option. Thanks for letting us know about AirBnB and Vrbo; the apartments I saw were on Booking.com.

fairly economical rate

In NYC is not a fairly economical rate anywhere else in the country. What is your budget and what type of room are you looking for? How are you arriving in NYC/Where are you coming from? Can you stay further away and travel that distance on the day of the cruise? All are factors in getting an economical rate.

Apartment rentals in NYC are generally illegal no matter the platform.  You are much more likely to be scammed than you are to find a safe, LEGAL and convenient private rental in the city

Thanks to all for your responses. We ended up booking the Holiday Inn Express Manhattan Midtown West for about $200 and we're hoping we'll be happy with the location.

We are booked here for our Venezia cruise in two weeks. I will post how it was when we get back.
