On my cruise a suite was almost 500pp more then a balcony cabin. The price differenc compares to sailing date. Its not worth it to me. We do the balcony because the honey is claustrophobic. We are not in the cabin that much except to sleep/shower and change so for us a suite just wouldnt be worth it.

We've done the inside cabins, the balcony cabins and the suites.

At 500 - 800 more per person for the suites, it is definatly not worth the extra money. The cabin is a little bigger, but it just didn't suit us. A balcony cabin is just fine in our opinion.

Hey Halos, I agree completely!! I would very much like a balcony one day:just to sit out there and have a drink in hand, perhaps me or one of my kids could sleep out there one night-Yes.A balcony sounds lovely!!!

The only suites on Carnival that I feel are worth the extra money is on the Spirit class ships. They are the category eleven aft corner suites that huge balconies.

Thanks....I didn't say that I was making a choice between the 2

Just wanted to know the difference as to what the other has.....

I wonder why it states that an oceanview has 220 sq ft and a balcony has 185 sq ft

thanks!

Both rooms are 220 SF actually. The Balcony covers part of that in the balcony rooms, so in the ocean views, it becomes part of the room as opposed to being part of the balcony.

Make sense?

I too have been curious about the cat 11 wrap arounds, so I am going for it next May just to see for myself.

I read a post that said the suites on the spirit class ships with the wrap-around balconies have marble bathtubs with jacuzzi jets. They also had a 2 room suite and a butler.

Now I might like the bathtub and the jacuzzi and the separate bedroom but have no desire for a butler-too me that is just someone else to tip.

All I can say is that I was spolied, we had the lucky fortune of getting upgraded from a cat. 11 suite with balcony on the Sensation )in May) to one of the two owners suites. It was fantastic, we felt like we were one of the "rich & famous". It had a bar, dining are, living room, seperate bedroom, walk in closets dressing area, whirpoll and the floors were all marble, it looked like a suite fom a penthouse in Las Vegas. The vernanda was a great size and there were windows all around that either looked out over the water or over the pool deck,(my DH loved that). It was a real treat for us since our first and only cruise was a really small almost a box of a cabin on the Empress Regal.

None of the wrap arounds sleep four people that I am aware of. There are only two twin beds in the cabin. I guess a third could sleep on the sofa but I'm not sure it would be comfortable unless you were a child.

I have been in Category 11 on both the Spirit Class and Conquest Class. Definitely worth the money for a 7 night or longer cruise. Larger balcony, bathroom has a tub/shower with glass doors (and jets for whirlpool)plus double bowl vanity sink with corian tops and marble floor.

We were lucky enough to be upgraded from a balcony to a cat 11 suite last year on the Pride...although I loved the extra room and the large balcony I think I would rather have the extra $$ savings for excursions...When DH and I walked into the suite I was afraid there had been a mistake and made my DH go to the pursor and verify that it was indeed our room!

To me the suites are worth the extra money! Hubby and I do like to spend some time in our cabin to just relax, read..or whatever! icon_biggrin.gif

In just 5 days we will be sipping drinks on our aft wrap around balcony on the Miracle! Last year, on the Legend, we were NEXT to the cabin with the wrap around balcony..and though our cabin was great, boy were we jealous of that balcony!

Anyone do both this and the Spirit wraparounds to give a comparison?

Are the wraparounds on the Destiny Class and the Conquest class any different?

Are the Spirts corner wrap arounds a true Category 11 suite?? I know on some ships the wrap around corners are 9's and some are 11. (miracle and Legend have corners that are 11 suites)

If the Conquest is a 9A and its available you should grap it. The balcony on that cabin is sooo worth the money. to me at least.

I have been on 2 fanasty class ships. On Fascination I had an inside on the upper deck. On Inspiration I had an outside (or oceanview the term some of you prefer) on epress deck. The rooms were the same size about 9 feet by 12 feet.

On Miracle a spirit class ship-we had an extended balcony on the empress deck. That cabin was like 10 feet by 16 feet not counting the entrance way where the bathroom was on one side and the closet on the other side. So from my experience the balcony is bigger.

Host Terry obvoiusly your pocket book is bigger then mine. the point I was making was enjoy your self-don't waste time envying others who can afford better.

I do like the fact the newer ships have the balconies that are affordable.
