Boston Old Town Trolley Access at Ship

We have booked the Boston Old Town Trolley through the ship and the excursion is fully booked. I have read horror stories of others having to wait up to two hours to board hop-on-hop-offs at the ship in some ports. Has anyone booked this in Boston and can share their experience regarding waiting times to board and any other advice regarding the hop-on-hop-off stops? Thanks in advance!

Also be aware they might close stops without any notice. If you are at a stop, and the bus doesn't come in a normal amount of time, call the office and keep calling. I was at a stop last year, and after calling a 3rd time about the status of the bus, I was told the stop I was at, was temporarily closed. This was after calling twice and being told to wait, sometimes buses come after 20-30 minutes. I had to walk to the closest one, but the operator couldn't tell me exactly how to get there. I had to figure it out on my own.
